Adam Driver Named Best Actor By Toronto Film Critics Association

Adam Driver has been named Best Actor by the Toronto Film Critics Association (TFCA) for his stellar work in the movie "Marriage Story."
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the movie that's directed by Noah Baumbach won two awards, including the Best Supporting Actress accolade for Laura Dern. Both actors are considered to be frontrunners for Acting nods at the upcoming Academy Awards.
Driver has been nominated in the same category at the Critics' Choice Awards as well as Golden Globes. He was also adjudged a runner-up by the Los Angeles Film Critics Association in the Best Actor category, losing out to Antonio Banderas for "Pain And Glory."
Meanwhile, the "Big Little Lies" star has also been included in the list of actresses nominated at the Critics' Choice and the Golden Globes.
South Korea's Bong Joon Ho turned out to be the biggest winner of the night. His film "Parasite" was named Best Picture while Joon Hoo took home the award for Best Director. The filmmaker also won the honor of Best Screenplay.
On the other hand, Lupita Nyong'O, who could not manage to get a nomination at the 2020 Golden Globes nominations, was given the prize of Best Actress for her amazing performance in Jordan Peele's horror film "Us." She was recently announced as the winner in the Best Actress category at the New York Film Critics Online awards.
Brad Pitt got the Best Supporting Actor trophy for Quentin Tarantino's "Once Upon A Time In Hollywood."
In related news, the 2020 Golden Globes have given 17 nominations to streaming platform Netflix, which is more than twice as many than any of its competitors. With nods to "Marriage Story," which is leading with six nominations, "The Two Popes" and "The Irishman," Netflix vies for supremacy in the 2020 awards race with not one, but four Best Picture nominations.
The winners will be revealed on Jan. 5, 2020 at the Golden Globe Awards ceremony.
